While Emergency Nursing 2023 will provide vital education and training experiences for attendees, the conference also hosts several social events to encourage members to relax and connect with colleagues from across the globe whom they haven’t seen since last year.
“The COVID-19 pandemic reinforced how valuable in-person interaction is for our members attending the conference,” explained ENA Meetings Manager Angela Jonker, MBA, CMP, DES. “One of the best parts of the experience is making new connections or seeing old friends each year at the conference, so we want to provide multiple opportunities dedicated to networking and social relationships.”
These events include ENA After Dark, the annual Welcome Party, and multiple Meet & Greet sessions.
ENA After Dark will take place from 9-11 p.m. on Sept. 21 on the second floor of the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. This networking event is an opportunity to relax and mingle, share stories, or discuss your favorite sessions at Emergency Nursing 2023. A cash bar will be available for attendees. All conference participants are welcome to attend.
The Emergency Nursing 2023 Welcome Party is scheduled for 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the Sails Pavilion of the San Diego Convention Center. This year’s party theme is “Emergency Nurses Assemble,” a nod to San Diego’s annual Comic-Con hosted in the San Diego Convention Center. Attendees are encouraged to let out their inner superheroes by donning the costumes of their favorite caped crusaders.
The Welcome Party will also feature food and drinks, a live band, and interactive activities.
“The Welcome Party is the best way for all our attendees to ease into their Emergency Nursing experience and have some fun with their colleagues arriving on-site,” Jonker said.
Emergency Nursing 2023 registrants can select the ENA Foundation upgrade during registration to party with a purpose. Those who choose this upgrade will receive special perks, including:

- Early access to the Welcome Party (7-7:30 p.m.)

Pre-registration is required for the ENA Foundation package. Ticket prices are $110 each.
This year will also feature six unique Meet & Greet events. The Attendee Meet & Greet is open to all conference attendees on Sept. 21 from 3-3:45 p.m. in the convention center’s Sails Pavilion.
The Student Meet & Greet is a forum for students to have their questions answered about what to expect at the conference and in their respective fields by experienced professionals. This event is scheduled for 4:45-5:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the San Diego Convention Center. Attendees should refer to the Events @ENA app for detailed location information.
Four specialty Meet & Greet sessions will also be hosted in the Emergency Nursing 2023 Experience Hall. The Global Attendee Meet & Greet will take place on Sept. 22 from 1:45-2:30 p.m., with the APRN Meet & Greet taking place immediately after from 2:30-3:15 p.m.
On Sept. 23, the Government Affairs Meet & Greet is scheduled for 1:45-2:30 p.m., followed by the Military Meet & Greet from 2:30-3:15 p.m. Veterans and current service members will receive Veteran Challenge Coins at the Military Meet & Greet and are encouraged to wear apparel that represents their branches of service at the event.
Cash bars will be available at the four Experience Hall Meet & Greets.
