Experience Hall: A Preview of Things to Come at Emergency Nursing 2022

The Experience Hall — home to exhibitors and experiences such as SIM Wars, Insights and Innovation, DisastER, ENA Experience and ENA Together — is back for ENA’s first in-person conference since 2019.

ENA Meetings Manager Angela Jonker said areas new to the Experience Hall include ePosters and ENA Skills Around the World which gives attendees a chance to experience hands-on practice of a variety of skills.

Jonker said the Experience Hall will also house many exhibitors participating in a competition called “Play. Score. Win.”

“This experience allows attendees to use their phone to collect various points and be entered to win some fabulous prizes,” Jonker said.

The contest begins Sept. 6 when the Emergency Nursing 2022 app launches, and concludes at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, with winners announced at the SIM Wars stage at 3 p.m.

Through the ENA Events mobile app, attendees can also set up appointments with exhibitors to have more in-depth conversations, according to ENA Meetings Director Jamie Garcia.

“The experiences are abundant and the opportunities are limitless,” Garcia said. “I sincerely hope attendees ENjoy their time discovering everything the Experience Hall has to offer.”

The sprawling exhibit space – open from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct 1-2 – showcases the latest technology and clinical innovations from vendors. Here is what Emergency Nursing 2022 attendees can expect to see inside this year’s Experience Hall:

SIM  Wars
The popular simulation event is back. Attendees up for the challenge can compete against other emergency nursing teams from around the world in caring for a simulated patient. Teams are scored on their clinical management, teamwork and communication.

Jonker said there are currently nine teams signed up for the popular competition as of Aug. 23.

DEI Engagement Activity
Within the ENA Experience, learn about how the association is engaging in DEI initiatives and participate in a self-reflective activity about identity and assumptions. Through simple “I am _____, but I am not _____” statements, attendees can affirm their personal identity and help disrupt stereotypes that can be associated with that identity.

ENA Together
Take a break from the high-energy conference pace with a chair massage, or take a moment to update your headshot for free.

ENA Skills Around the World
This fun-filled and informative skills area will offer a tour of the ED world. Activities are intended for the novice nurse, the nurse who wants to up their game and the experienced ED rock star who wants to sail, fly, and journey through the experience of a lifetime.

You can also discover a new frontier in emergency nursing: advanced practice. Explore your role as a nurse assisting with APRN skills, or if you are an APRN, practice essential procedures commonly performed in the emergency setting. Earn “travel miles” at each skills station and exchange the miles for fun ENA swag.

DisastER
Look for an airplane fuselage, helicopter and ambulance to find DisastER, the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association’s interactive center teaching about flight and ground transportation nursing.
