Emergency Nursing 2023 offered attendees significant opportunities to visit with their counterparts from around the world and see how different — and alike — their emergency departments and practices are.

Acclaimed stand-up comedians Liz Glazer and Nancy Norton brought Emergency Nursing 2023 to a hilarious end. At the comedy club-style Closing Session, Glazer and Norton shared their funny yet insightful takes on topics that resonated with emergency nurses.

The Banana Bags, Kayla Holman, MSN-ED, RN, CEN; Donna Andrews, APRN; Cassandra Woore, MSN, RN, CEN; and Jessica Williams, ADN, RN, CCRN, won the high-pressured 2023 Sim Wars competition, along with a traveling trophy and championship belt for the next 12 months.

Madison Bird, RN, BSN, CEN, TCRN, shared steps emergency nurses can take to help create a safe environment for gender-expansive patients during “Care of the Transgender and Gender-Expansive Patient in the Emergency Department.”
